die Spatzen pfiffen es schon von den Dächern: Lockheed Martin arbeiten an Prepar3D V3. Offiziell angekündigt wurde es nun gestern, Release ist geplant für den 30. September (yay, hätte damit prinzipiell mein Geburtstagsgeschenk an mich :D).
 
Die Liste der Änderungen ist relativ groß, allerdings werd ich dabei auch das Gefühl nicht los, dass es mehr ein größeres Update als eine völlig neue Version ist:

 

 

 

 

General Platform Updates Autodesk® Scaleform® Integration

  • Gauges and panels as well as scenario object content can be built using Adobe® Flash® and integrated using Autodesk Scaleform.
  • Several UI screens have been replaced with Scaleform implementations such as the ATC window, the Menu System, the InfoGen, and Menu Prompts. These aforementioned UI can be themed by third party developers.

Am interessantesten sind wohl die Verbesserungen im VAS/Memory-Bereich:

  • Improved memory management reducing overall VAS usage and spikes
  • Optimized texture unloading during loads
  • Unused terrain detail textures no longer loaded

Laut Posts im Avsim-Forum hat mans bisher nicht geschafft, einen OoM zu produzieren und das lag nicht daran, dass mans nicht darauf angelegt hat. Also technisch scheint man einen guten Schritt weiter gekommen zu sein, ohne das Grundsystem zu verändern (Kompatibilität zu bestehenden Add Ons).

 

Allerdings hat das auch seinen Preis - nämlich den vollen. P3D V3 ist ein neues Produkt, kein Update. Daher ein Neukauf zum Vollpreis (Prof. 200$, Education 60$). Das haut natürlich rein, aber da kann man auch nur sagen: willkommen in der Welt der Software für professionelle Anwendungen, da zahlt man eben für ein 'Update' die volle Summe, auch als bestehender Kunde.

 

 

Bin insgesamt mal gespannt. Werd aber nicht sofort zugreifen. Zum einem weil ich das Testen diesmal anderen überlasse, statt blind 200$ für ein Update auszugeben (vll kauf ich auch erstmal und lass es nach 60 Tagen erstatten zum Test), zum anderen bin ich eh noch ein paar Wochen in Penang/Malaysia, kann also ruhig erste Reviews und Berichte abwarten.

Hi,

das klingt wirklich gut, wenn auch PMDG bestätigen, dass das VAS-Problem behoben ist. Hoffe aber, dass die Entwickler dies nicht als Freifahrtschein ansehen, um nur noch 4K-Texturen zu basteln. Schätze auch die neue Version wird irgendwo ihr Limit haben.

Stimmt, Dimitri. Hoffen wir, daß Randazzo seine neue 747 nicht so derartig aufpumpt, daß noch vor Laden der Szenerie in V3 Schluß ist!!:D ;)

Hi,

das war durchaus ernst gemeint. Im Moment haben ja einige Entwickler die Einstellung: "mein Add Ons läuft prima mit den Ressourcen, kann nix für wenn ein anderes Add On damit nicht klar kommt". Und wenn jetzt Add On A meint, das braucht 1GB VAS, Add On B meint, es braucht 1GB und Add On C will wenigstens 500MB, dann haben die Entwickler zwar in soweit recht, dass ihre Add Ons mit ihren Ressourcen klar kommen - aber im Zusammenspiel tun die das nicht. Und jeder Add On Hersteller wird dann auch sagen "Ich werde den Ressourcenverbrauch NICHT reduzieren, nur damit ein anderer mehr nutzen kann".

 

Das ganze war natürlich überspitzt ausgedrückt, aber so sieht momentan die Realität aus. Wenn P3D V3 dem Abhilfe schafft, ist das natürlich klasse. Wenn dies aber von mehreren Add On Herstellern ausgenutzt wurd, und die Add Ons dann halt statt 1GB plötzlich 3GB fressen, dann geht das gesamte Gejammere von vorne los - mit den selben Argumenten.

dafür, dass die PMDG T7 nie langstreckentauglich war (VAS) und die Liste eigentlich mehrheitlich fixes sind,

finde ich ein upgrade zum vollem Preis sehr happig...

Vor allem, weil ich mir kürzlich den ganzen Aufwand mit dem Umstieg auf 2.5 gmacht habe....

 

Bin gespannt auf eure Meinungen zum Wechsel!

Mhh ich warte auch noch, ich sehe da im moment nicht wirklich große Verbesserungen gegenüber 2.5. Aber, irgendwann werd ich wohl oder über doch umspringen müssen, solange Addons auch weiter kompatibel sind. Bin mit p3dv2.5 momentan echt zufrieden! Keine OOM's mehr, keine anderen Abstürze mehr, das Pragramm läuft stabil (was man vom FSX nicht behaupten konnte). Auch mit der 777 von PMDG kann ich jeden Flug (außer vielleicht nach London) ohne Probleme fliegen.

ORBX hat eine neue FTX Global 1.40 Version, mit implementiertem P3D3 Installer. Nur komplett über den Store (!) down zu loaden. Inhaltlich gibt es allerdings nichts neues. 

 

Ausserdem gibt es eine neue ORBX Library (151001).

Im Moment beobachte ich zwar nur die V3 Entwicklung, aber der Umstieg wird langsam immer interessanter...

 

Neu ist das A2A Update mit P3D3 Kompatibilität.

 

ORBX Vector1.30 ist leider noch nicht kompatibel, was aber "soon" nachgereicht werden soll....

Ich habe mich heute auch zum Umstieg von 2.5 auf 3.x überredet. Auch wenn mein 2.5 super lief, es kann ja nur noch besser werden. Zuguterletzt will ich auch nicht erst wieder so spät umsteigen, weil dann die nächst neue Version schon wieder vor der Tür steht. Add-ons sind ja fast alle Kompatibel bzw. werden kompatibel gemacht. Auch die verbesserte VAS useage und das durchsichtige ATC Fenster sind für mich wichtige Faktoren. Dazu kommt das ich die nächsten zwei Jahre immer wieder Upgrades bekomme die diese Version mit sicherheit noch aufwerten.

 

Diesmal werde ich keine FSX Szenerien mehr in den v3 zwingen, nur noch kompatible Airports (mindestens 2.5, am besten 3.x). Das nervige ist nur das ganze downloaden. Vor allem FTX Global muss ich komplett neu laden, das kostet Zeit. Aber ich denke in einer Woche wird alles wieder zu meiner zufriedenheit laufen. :)

 

Werde dann mal einen Erfahrungsbericht Posten ob sich das ganze auch für 2.5 Nutzer lohnt. Das einzige was ich nicht vernünftig ersetzen kann ist der Ai-traffic (da gibts nur die fs9 sachen) und einige Aerosoft Airports, grade DUS! :mellow:

Tja, auch als FSX oder P3D 2.5 User hättest Du (wie ich) das ganze FTX Global neu laden müssen, daher hast Du Dir eigentlich Arbeit gespart, wenn Du es direkt nur für P3D v3.0 geladen hast B)

Ehrlich gesagt, ich merke kaum Unterschiede. P3D V2 lief bei mir auch okay. OOMs hatte ich nicht. Es sieht nicht besser aus, es läuft nicht spür/messbar besser. Falls man keine OOM Probleme hat, kann man es sich sparen.

Naja an einen Testflug ist noch nicht zu denken. Installiert habe ich alles, auch wenn ich bei ein paar Szenerien noch auf Prepar 3D v3 umsetzungen warte (Zurich v2 zum Beispiel, der AP Controller funktioniert nicht, damit habe ich keine Bäume).

 

Aber ein riesen Problem ist das sich meine Controller nicht im P3D kalibrieren lassen so wie es in 2.5 noch ging. Dadurch haben alle Flugzeuge einen Ruderausschlag nach rechts. Das Problem habe so einige user, Lockheed will da nachbessern, bis dahin ist fliegen für mich nicht möglich. Da ich den 2.5 auch schon von der Platte geschmissen habe ist das echt ärgerlich! :angry:

Es tut sich wieder was: ORBX hat den neuen P3Dv3 Installer für Vector 1.30 online!

Dieser verbuggte vas-fressende Schrott kommt mir nicht mehr in den neuen P3D.

Mit fsuipc ist das kalibrieren kein Problem.
