Gestern habe ich auf LiveLeak ein Video von einem Absturz in Island entdeckt.

Auf IceNews habe ich weitere Informationen gefunden:

 

A plane carrying three people crashed yesterday afternoon at 1:30 by Akureyri in North Iceland, killing two and injuring one, while debris from the plane scattered the area below.

 

The plane was an air ambulance used to transport patients from one hospital to another. Two pilots and one paramedic were on board the flight, which was returning from an ambulance flight to Reykjavík.

 

Many people witnessed the crash as it happened on a race track by Hlíðarfjall mountain on the outskirts of Akureyri, where a local auto club had organised a race there that should have taken place in the afternoon.

 

Mýflug, the airline operating the flight, released a statement explaining the crash. The airplane had aborted a landing at Akureyri airport before losing altitude and attempting an emergency landing on the race track.

 

Both victims were Akureyri locals in their thirties. The surviving pilot is not in a critical condition

Wow, sehr überraschend dass nicht alle ums Leben gekommen sind.

Heftige Schräglage bei dieser Höhe würde ich mal meinen.

Ja, mir ist bewusst, das der Vorfall schon eine Weile her ist (Habe das Datum ja auch im Threadtitel). Um so erstaunlicher, dass es hier im Forum noch kein Beitrag gibt (resp, gab). :005:

Dennoch interessiert mich was da genau geschehen ist.

 

Versuchte Notlandung auf dem Dragstrip?

Haten sie überhaupt ein Problem mit dem Flugzeug? Ich habe nirgends von einem Emergency gelesen.

 

Schön, dass wenigstens der Co-Pilot überlebt hat, der hatte wohl einige Schutzengel dabei.

Das war ein Show-Überflug, steht zwischen den Zeilen im LiveLeak-Artikel:

Co-Pilot has not commented publicly but it is known that he made remarks to the Captain about the dangerous flying.

 

Captain had requested a go around moments before landing at an airport close by and flew dangerously fast and low heading to dragstrip according to witnesses and crashed. Captain had close connections to the club running the dragstrip.

Ist ziemlich eindeutig, dass er den Kollegen eine Show bieten wollte und dabei auf die Schnauze gefallen ist. Darwin!
