The Hamburg Port Party is simply the biggest party in Northern Germany

 

Approx. 1.5 million spectants are joining in to this spectacular three-days event in Hamburg. The area around Harbor-city is filled up with windjammers, nostalgic vessels and an uncounted number of larger and smaller boats joining in to the celebration parade.

 

But also the air will be filled up with party-guests. Lots of aircraft on their way from or to Hamburg are parading by. Helis, general aviation aircraft, even balloons and nostalgic props with and without floats are to be seen along the party mile.

 

Low approaches, go-arounds with special missed approach vectors, to see more of the harbor are of course available upon request. Our ATC-team will do the best to make your evening unforgettable.

You don´t want to fly IFR? VFR is as welcome as IFR is and finding your way through the crowded airspace with a little plane gives you the best impression of the second biggest city in Germany and it´s biggest festival of the year.

 

VATSIM Germany invites you to the virtual party flyin on Wednesday, May 8th 2012.

 

 

This will be the programm:

 

EDDH Crew is on duty for five hours (17:00 - 21:00UTC). Fully staffed and extra frequencies open. So, you may bring the participants to the party-zone. Also longhaul-flights are more then welcome. We will be online just for YOU!

 

VFR-pilots: You may join in in our special control-zone in and around the birthday-mile.

 

IFR-pilots: You may request a low pass inside the Harbor zone when flying from or to EDDH and you may enter our special control-zone covering the birthday-mile. This will give you the rare chance to enjoy the fantastic Hamburg City freeware scenery

 

There will be special landing zones for helis and waterplanes inside resp.right next to the Harbor area. (EDHI_TWR)
