Raffael Geschrieben 12. September 2001 Geschrieben 12. September 2001 Hi. I send you many greetings from Folkestone. I found a Internetshop here. The reasen I write in English is that I want to speak and write German at less as it gets. Markus Bu. My airplane was not the one with the olympic rings. HB-IOC is the one with the rings, but I had HB-IOK. I didn`t ask for the jump in Zurich but I wanted to go into the cockpit and ask to stay there for the landing during the flight. Unfortunately, the eating took very long and when I was ready to go into the cockpit, the plan just begun to descent an there was no more any posibility to go in to the cockpit. But as I could see, there was already someone on the jumpseat. I`ll tell zou more about my stay in England when I`m back in Switzerland. Robi. Could you please write into this Forum If you can either manage to get the flight on 6th October from Heathrow or not? Thank you. Regards Raffael Zitieren
Markus Burkhard Geschrieben 12. September 2001 Geschrieben 12. September 2001 Good evening Raffael! I'm glad you've found an internetshop in Folkestone, that way you don't have to live without us Well, the immatriculations IOC and IOK are indeed nearly the same, at least for me, and now I understand why you coudn't find some rings on the photos as you were looking for them last saturday evening... sorry about that! What about your scanner? Did you bring it with you to england? I hope so, because I think it's fascinating to listen to british ATC-Controllers I wish you a very pleasant stay in England, and don't forget to visit the visitor's platform at Heathrow Airport! And now some very british greetings: Yours faithfully Markus ------------------ www.airliners.ch - Die grösste schweizer Website über Verkehrsflugzeuge Zitieren

Raffael Geschrieben 17. September 2001 Autor Geschrieben 17. September 2001 Hello Makus(es) Yes, I took mz scanner to England. I listen to ATC every evening. Its quiet interessting. One day, they had radio failure with an Alitalia. The controller said: Alitalia 212 (I can't remember the number), if you read me, squawk ident. Thez don't xxx descent FL130 to be leveled by TIGER, they say xxx descent FL130 to be leveled abeam TIGER. Unfortunately, I forgot the sheet with the frequencies from soth England. I found some random frequences by scanning. I would be glad if somebodz could write down the import freq. in the forum. I'm especially interessed in the frequenci the pilots have tocontact to get clearence to overfly the ocean. I hope, I'll not get catched at Heathrow when I go back to switzerland and the see that I have a Scanner with me (because of the aircrafts which flew in the WTC). Is the "Zuschauerterasse" in Heathrow open? If zou ask mz, I don't think so, because of the terrorists. Greets Raffael Zitieren

Markus Burkhard Geschrieben 17. September 2001 Geschrieben 17. September 2001 Hi Raffael, I've found a list of frequencies for London Heathrow Airport and many others: 118.5000 AM London Heathrow Tower 0830-2130 118.7000 AM London Heathrow Tower Primary 119.7250 AM London Heathrow Approach Primary 119.9000 AM London Heathrow Radar 120.4000 AM London Heathrow Approach [As Directed] 121.7000 AM London Heathrow Ground Standby 121.8500 AM London Heathrow ATIS Departure Info 121.9000 AM London Heathrow Ground 121.9750 AM London Heathrow Clearances 123.9000 AM London Heathrow ATIS Arrival Info 124.4750 AM London Heathrow Tower Standby 125.6250 AM London Heathrow Radar SVFR Director 127.5250 AM London Heathrow Approach [As Directed] 134.9750 AM London Heathrow Approach [As Directed] The list seems to be quite accurate, but I'm not sure of course... If you'd like to see the whole list, head over to this website: http://www.lowe-electronics.com/frequencylist.htm If I remeber correctly, the "Zuschauerterrasse" at Heathrow Airport is called "visitor's platform", but I wouldn't wonder if thats not the case, because as I was in London, I've always heard "please mind the gap between the train and the platform", so the word platform I have in my memories could very well be from London Underground... And by the way, the "Zuschauerterrasse" at Zurich Airport is not closed, so there is a chance that theirs isn't closed either. Now, have fun in England and try the tube in London if you haven't already done so! Take care, Markus ------------------ www.airliners.ch - Die grösste schweizer Website über Verkehrsflugzeuge Zitieren
